It's not just a hobby, it's what I hope to do

above them are classic ones that my grandpa gave me,
including Dean Martin and Bing Crosby.

This is a view of my desk. It's a little more decorated now, but I wanted to show the wall of posters.
Since I can't paint the walls, I did the next best thing.
This is my music wall, with pictures of John Mayer and Frank Sinatra, among others.
I also included some of my photography.
Reasons Why I Would Like to Be An Interior Designer
  1. I enjoy art and design
  2. I enjoy helping people and making them feel comfortable in
    the place where they should feel the most comfortable - their home.
  3. I like taking a "problem" (like an empty room) and finding the best "solution" for it's purpose.

    Design is a huge part of my life. As a graphic design major, design has become an aspect of every day of my life. However, many people don't realize that I don't actually want to be a graphic designer, but rather an interior designer. I have decided that I want to get my graphic design degree and then go to graduate school for interior design. My dream is to one day have my own interior design company. I came to this conclusion after realizing that I've been exposed to interior design all of my life.

    I have actually had interior design in my life for as long as I can remember because my mother really enjoys and is very talented at decorating. I can remember that all of our homes have always been very nice and ornamented, and I've had several friends over the years that have said, "You're house is so nice!", and I've always felt very proud to say back, "Yeah, my mom really enjoys decorating." It wasn't until my sophomore year in college that I realized that I, too, enjoy interior design. Futhermore, I had this epiphany after I also realized that I really enjoyed decorating my own place, as well as decorating some of my friends' rooms.

    I've had a few of my friends ask me to help them with their apartment bedrooms. In one friend's room, for example, I put a huge tapestry on the wall and then put several artifacts that were important to her on the tapestry, including a toy car and a cameo belt buckle (all of which were held up with thumb tacks). I've really enjoyed helping my friends, and this enjoyment, along with the enjoyment of decorating my own apartment, made me realize that interior design is what I want to do with the rest of my life.
