The Beginning…
The Dallas
Cowboys Cheerleaders are
also known as “Americas Sweethearts.” They have been around since
the
existence of the franchise. But from 1960 to 1972 they were made
up of
high school students from around the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex
area. After winning Super Bowl VI, Tex Schramm, the Cowboys
general manager,
decided
to take the Cowboy cheerleaders to a different level. He decided
to have a
mix
between beautiful girls and athletic dancers. In the 1972-73
season, the
“new” cheerleadesr were introduced to the lively Texas Stadium.
The seven
girls were an instant hit!

Today…
Americas
Sweethearts are the most popular cheerleaders in the world. They
have
traveled all around the world helping third world countries and
visiting
American troops. They have been on such acclaimed shows as
“Family Feud”,
“Saturday Night Live”, and have appeared with Jay Leno and David
Letterman. They have also performed along side artists such as
Clint
Black, Shania Twain, Randy Travis, Reba McEntire, Jessica Simpson and
Billy
Gilman. The Cowgirls have been asked by the NFL to help promote
the sport
in countries like
