The Dallas Cowboys faced the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XII.  It was the first Super Bowl to be played indoors, it was held at the Superdome in New Orleans.  The Cowboys were in their Fourth Super Bowl and the Broncos were in their first.  Roger Staubach led the Cowboys once again and Craig Morton, a former Cowboy, lead the Broncos as their quarterback.  Da ‘Boys jumped to an early lead when they converted two interceptions into 10 points.  Kicker Efren Herrera later added 3 points on the board to give the Cowboys a 13-0 lead at halftime.

After a 47-yard field goal by the Broncos, Butch Johnson made a controversial touchdown catch that made the score 20-3. Shortly after, the Broncos cut the lead with in 10 with a Norris Weese touchdown.  But it was too little, too late, for running back Robert Newhouse tossed a 29-yard touchdown pass to Golden Richards to make the final score 27-10.  Harvey Martin and Randy White helped the Dallas defense recover four fumbles and intercept four passes; they were named co-MVP's of Super Bowl XII.  The Cowboys had now won their second Super Bowl.
